More Kiddo Funnies

C has learned what buttons to push to get D to get upset. And, too frequently, he uses this knowledge. A lot of the time it is in the car when I can't separate the two. Here is the latest scenario...

We just pulled out of the garage to go to Wednesday Night Thanksgiving Service.

D: It is dark outside. I don't like the dark.

C: No it isn't - it is beautiful out.

D: No it's not - it is dark outside.

C: No, it is beautiful and sunny.


C: Just beautiful and sunny. So nice out.


C: Yes, it is just so nice out.

Had to stop laughing to turn around and tell them to stop. Good thing Dan was driving.

Has It Been That Long???

Wow, it has been a whole week since I last posted. We have been busy...I worked Monday and Wednesday...Tuesday I baked for Thanksgiving...Wednesday night we had a Thanksgiving Service at church...Thursday we went to my M&D's for Thanksgiving...Friday we put up the Christmas tree and went to Karaoke...Saturday we went to Dan's M&D's for Thanksgiving and in the evening I went to our Pastor's 50th Birthday, went to church and finished putting the ornaments on our tree. Somewhere in there I also managed to address my Christmas cards. I just have to get my letter copied and stuffed in the envelopes then put stamps on them. I don't send out as many letters as I do just the cards so it shouldn't take long to finish them. They should be in the mail by Tuesday at the latest.

A Weekend with Firsts...

Well this is the weekend for least for me, K and D.

For me - I think this is the earliest that I have my Christmas letter written. I also got my first Christmas card - KUDOS to Paula who is so on top of things! I am waiting for my cards and then I have to print the letters out...they will be in the mail shortly after Thanksgiving...

For K - this was her first time trying cereal. She wasn't very interested in it but she swallowed a little and spit most of it out. Not too sure she likes the stuff.

And for D - this was his first trip to the Emergency Room. Now, C is an old hat with already 3 trips in his almost 3 years but D's first. He has been trying to stick things up his nose but I have always caught, I was reading the newspaper and heard him cry out in panic. I thought maybe he was having a bloody nose because there was some coloration by his nose. I could see panic in his eyes but he said no to the bloody nose. I looked closer...he shoved a M&M up his nose! He kept blowing his nose and a big chunk of chocolate finally came out but we took him in just to make sure nothing was still up there. He got a stuffed fish from the Doc and I think finally learned his lesson not to stick something up his nose because IT HURTS!

Mid-Week Hiatus

My hubby was staying at a hotel for work closeby that had a waterpark. The regular rooms were booked for the days that he needed to stay so they put him up in a suite. Let me just say it was "SWEET." It was huge...I should have taken pictures of it. It had a 12X30 "livingroom/kitchen area" and then the bedroom/bathroom area was just as big. It even had a huge jacuzzi tub.

Well, needless to say with a room like that and free access to the waterpark, he had visitors. We went down Wednesday night after work and stayed until Friday morning when he had to go back to the office. The boys played in the jacuzzi tub with some toys Thursday morning and when Dan got back from working we ate supper and headed to the waterpark...It was completely empty - we had the whole place to ourselves! So, Dan, if you ever get sent down there again - with or without the suite - we are coming during the week and not on the weekend!

It is so fun to watch the boys become less and less afraid of the water. C did a couple of headers into the water - which normally after one he would not get back in the water. This time he just wiped his face and got back in. The same with D. It was lots of fun!

More funnies from the boys...

D has been having problems sleeping...he says that he can't sleep because it is too dark but doesn't want the nightlight on because he sees shadows. He had been waking up now and again with bad dreams so I would get up and tell him that everything was okay. About a week ago, K had gotten up to eat around 4ish and I had just crawled back in bed when I heard D call out. I thought, "Oh, No...not another bad dream - I am too tired to do this tonight." I got out of bed again and went into his room asking if everything was okay. He said, "Yes, Mommy. I just wanted to tell you that I was having a good dream." "That's good - keep having more of them." I said all the while thinking - you couldn't have waited until morning to tell me!

C loves to sing to his little sister and one of the songs that he always sings is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. However, being not quite three, he doesn't pronounce all of his words correctly. He says, "Tinkle, Tinkle Little Star" which I think is absolutely the cutest thing in the whole world, but don't want to correct him for fear that he will not sing it ever again! The funniest part of it is that he wants absolutely NOTHING to do with potty training...much to mommy's chagrin! K loves it when he sings it to her...she gets a big grin on her face and listens so intently.

Updates from Yesterday and Today...

Last night was LNO (Ladies Night Out) much fun hanging with the gals and playing games. Where else can you talk about chewy BO? I guess you had to be there! K was so good too. She slept through most of it and when I got home at 3am I fed her hoping she would cooperate some more with sleeping. She did - she slept for six more hours and Dan graciously got up with the boys so I got about five and a half hours of sleep. Dan usually gets up with the boys on one day to sleep in.

Today, Lisa had a HouseParty for Philidephia Cream Cheese, Aerobeds, Golf something and some music. I just went because I think cream cheese is one of the best foods invented - YUMMY. All we did was eat some yummy food made with the cream cheese, played a game that of course Paula won (again - had to be there) and chatted...felt almost like an extended LNO except I had my kids. These HouseParties are fun - they are sponsored by some big names and parties are held on the same day nationwide. I am trying to get a Ziploc one organized, if I get chosen. They send a bunch of the product, some gifts, coupons, lots of goodies, etc. We are all still a little jealous of Sarah, who did an awesome one for Fisher Price.

Anyway, K is getting fussy, I think she needs a little snooze...better run. I still have to finish the cake for my MIL's B-day, get everyone a bath and then get them off to bed so I can enter some more Christmas giveaways and contests!

All Night Long...

Yep - she slept in her crib all night long. We moved her out of her bassinet last night because she is getting too big for that...she kept hitting her head at the top... She has been sleeping very well at night - better than the other two did but last night was her first night in her crib. She slept from 10pm to 6am and then only woke up because I needed to nurse her before we went to work. She probably wouldn't have slept too much longer than that though. Here is a picture of her taken this morning...even the flash didn't wake her!

Just a Cold Snowy Day

It is very cold outside and I think this will be the first time this winter that the snow will stick to the ground. It has been snowing off and on all day with blowing winds. I do not look forward to winter. I do like snow but don't like the cold it brings. I remember the January just after D turned one there was tons of snow on the ground but it was like 45 and sunny - now that would be a good winter!

I have been sorting through toys into buckets all day - well sitting with sleeping children on my lap too... I need to gather all the winter stuff for the boys, making sure it is washed and ready for tomorrow. I know I have pants for D, I just can't find them. I have four pants for C so he should be set. K should be set too...she's a little to young to be frolicking in the snow this year. Not looking forward to all this!!!! YUCK!

D was on a roll today...

Today, at work (I work at a daycare so I can still be with my kids but yet earn some money as well), D was in his room and all the other children were sitting around the table ready for lunch. I asked him what he was supposed to be doing. He said, "Yeah, Mom, I know." I asked him why he wasn't doing it...he needed to wash his hands and sit at the table so they could say the "wish" before eating. He said, "Yeah, Mom, I know but I needed to stay here and make up a story about these puzzles here." That is D - always making up stories about anything around him. We have been listening to a story on CD in the's like any kids movie - you have to watch it at least 20 times a day...well, we listen to this every time we are in the car.

He also had a run-in with a door at work. Ended with a black eye - his first. Actually it was not his fault...the girl ahead of him was so excited to be playing outside that she pushed the door open too hard and it came flying back at him. It hit hard and sounded like it hurt lots. He wouldn't let me hold ice on it but it didn't swell up too bad. Just black on his eyelid right now. Daddy said he hit it again tonight on the chair. Never fails when you have an injury - you keep bumping the same spot over and over. Anyway, you will have to check out the Wordless Wednesday and I will post a pic of his eye.

Sunday Events...

Yesterday we went to have lunch with my Aunt...lots of fun. I need to go see her more. I feel bad but right now life is a little busy. Her's isn't though and I need to remember that more.

We also had a family date...we took the kids to go see Madegascar 2. So funny - I think it is more for adults but they make it in cartoon caracters to that we can bring our kids along. I don't want to give away all the funny will just have to go see it yourself. I for one will buy the movie when it comes out!!! It was only given one and a half stars but I would rate it higher. I never go by the ratings anyway.

Then we had to race home so my husband could break into his car because he locked the keys in it. He hit the lock button instead of the unlock button with the keys still in the ignition. Unfortunately, his other set of keys is lost somewhere in the house - somewhere where the boys were last done playing with them and we will never find them again.

C fell asleep on the way home and woke up at 8:30 - not ready to go down at 9:00. He fooled his Daddy and after Daddy went to bed he peeked around the corner and when I acknowledged him he came running out to snuggle on my lap. He fell asleep again around 11:00. That is why there was no posts yesterday...

Where was my camera?

I know where my camera was but I didn't have time to run get it and take a picture - even though it would have made a great one. Here is the scenario...

My boys both crawled in bed with me this morning but I wasn't really wanting to get up so I asked them to go get books and crawl back in bed to read them... Next thing I know - D runs in the room and yells "Mom, C has sunscreen all over him and he wants to go outside!" Now mind you, it is probably about 35 degrees out if that and it is cloudy, dreary, rainy out. I run out there and he has got sunscreen on his left arm, all over his pants, a huge dab in his hand and some on the carpet. As I get out there he looks up at me like - "Did I do something wrong?" I asked him where he found it - "I don't know." I asked him what he was doing - "I want to go play outside." I told him it was too cold and yucky out - "No Mom, it is bright and sunny out and I want to go play outside." He is always my glass half-full boy!

Gotta love him!

Conversations in the Car

On the way from work to church - in amongst the screams, cries and giggles - I hear this conversation...

D: C, we hear by sound waves that move through the air.

C: Yes, sound waves.

D: These sound waves go in one ear.

C: Yes, one ear.

D: Then these sound waves go right through to the other ear.

C: Yes, the other ear.

D: That is right, C. In one ear and right out the other.

More screams, cries and giggles....

Now if these two can figure that out at almost 5 and 3...why can't grown men figure that out and listen better?

As I am typing this - I have just turned it off the local channels 0nto one that does not cover the elections. I don't understand how reporters can call a state or district for a candidate with only 1 or 2 percent reporting in. I can not watch any more...just pray that it turns out the way that I think it should, because I am selfish. :)

Today, God allowed me to be a joy...

God allowed me to see his hand at work in helping my dear friend. It was obvious that His timing is perfect because otherwise things may not have ended as soon or as well as they have.

On Sunday, our Pastor ended his sermon with a challenge to everyone to watch and see how God was at work. He gave an example and said it was very obvious in that example...well, here is another OBVIOUS example of how God was working.

My friend's son went missing -when I heard this my heart sank. Our two Pastors looked all over town for him and could not find him. I talked to her several times that morning and asked if there was anything that I could do...she said that she was just cleaning to burn up some energy but that there was really nothing they could do... In one of the conversations she said that there had been a boy about her son's age that was seen walking on a highway by us but that she was waiting to hear from the police - they were sending a squad to check it out.

I wanted to do something to help...I called my husband and told him to pray but felt I could do more...At about 1:00, after feeding them, I loaded up the kiddos and started driving toward the highway where the boy was spotted thinking I could get rid of the helpless feeling I had. Less than a mile after turning onto that highway I saw her son walking down the road!!!! I was so to get him to go home. It took a while for him to get into the car with me and then to go home. I asked if I could call his mom because she was worried about him - he agreed and wanted to go home.

What a joyful feeling it was to call my friend to tell her that her son was found! Praise God...had I gone a little before that I may not have found was all God's hand in the situation. I am still praying for him and know that God will work it out.

God is good...all the time!

I have been told...

that I need to start a blog for the past year - or so because I have lots of blogging "material." I told my friends that if they came up with a name then I would start a blog. So here we are...

My children are my joys but they can also be the source of many "pains." My boys are very imaginative and are usually very loud. For the most part they play very nice with each other but my older one, D, needs to have everything go his way and my younger one, C, is usually compliant. It is when he has had enough that the joyful noise turns sour. My new little girl, K, is such a good little girl - so happy with those sparkling eyes, but when she gets hungry or upset -she too can make a not-so-joyful noise.

SO, there it first blog. Hopefully you will come back again to visit me soon.
